Elizabeth Lang's Poster to be on Display at DaVinci Science Center
In Spring 2014, 4th-graders at Muhlenberg and Ritter Elementary Schools participated in “An Allentown Adventure” project. This project was based on a book of the same name that was written specifically for 3rd to 5th graders by Janice Altieri, an ASD library specialist. The book focuses on the history, culture and landmarks of the City of Allentown.

The objective of the project, funded by the Allentown School District Foundation, was twofold: first, 4th grade students would read their own copy of the book and discuss the content with a social studies specialist; next, the students, inspired by the book, would make an advertising poster based on a City landmarks.

Elizabeth Lang, now a 5th grader at Muhlenberg Elementary, designed a poster inspired by the Da Vinci Science Center.  Da Vinci Science Center CEO Lin Erickson and others at the Science Center were very impressed by the message of Elizabeth’s “Build a Brain” slogan and graphic.  The finished poster was framed and will be on display at the Science Center.  The photo shows the presentation of the picture to the DaVinci Science Center in November 2014.
